I recently took a look at the season-best times in the Hoosier Heritage Conference. But with January just a few days away, it's not too early to start thinking about how the IHSAA Sectional might shake out in early February.
Here is a list of the fastest times reported by Christmas among the nine schools that compete in our sectionals (Anderson, Elwood, Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Liberty Christian, Marion, Oak Hill, Pendleton Heights and Yorktown).

Boys 100 Breast--Kevin Broad, Fishers, 1:01.80
Girls 400 Free Relay--Hamilton Southeastern, 3:40.25
Boys 400 Free Relay--Fishers, 3:21.44
There are a couple of events that promise to be EXTREMELY close once tournament time gets here. On the girls side, FOUR sprinters find themselves just .36 of a second apart right now in the 50 Free, including defending sectional champion Jessica Extine of Yorktown.
The margins are even THINNER so far in the boys 200 Free Relay. Three teams--Anderson, Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern--are separated by only .09 of a second heading into 2012!
The next six weeks are going to be VERY interesting to say the least. Train hard, eat right, rest when you can, and keep your eyes on the prize.
GO TIGERS!
