Believe it or not, we're closing in FAST on the 2012 Hoosier Heritage Conference meet. The diving prelims are just 24 days from now, and the diving finals and other swimming events are only THREE WEEKS from Saturday. So I thought it would be fun to begin taking a look at the best performances of the season in the HHC.
Consider it my own little Merry Christmas stocking stuffer for YHS fans. ;)
Keep in mind that some coaches don't report every result, and some coaches don't report ANY. So the list is a start, but certainly not a finish.

There you have it, the fastest performers of the 2011-12 season in the HHC. Of course, a LOT more goes into winning a conference championship than just having the biggest stud in a particular event. Coaches have to decide whether to enter an athlete in two individual and two relay events, OR one individual and three relay events.
That makes the lineup critical, and scoring depth is just as important. The YHS boys proved it last year, when they won the FIRST FIVE swimming events of the day, and EIGHT EVENTS in the meet, only to lose the team title to Greenfield-Central by more than 50 points! The blue ribbon winners get the glory, but the mid-level placers help win the TROPHY.
Food for thought as we begin the journey into HIT WEEKS.
Train hard, kids.
GO TIGERS!
