GIRLS SECTIONAL PREVIEW, TAKE 2

It's time to get amped up for the start of the IHSAA "tournament" in swimming and diving, with the Sectional prelims just four days away. So just for you swimming junkies like me, I've compiled a Top 10 list of the best performances--by event--of the season among athletes whose schools feed into our Sectional field. I have omitted diving, because so many schools switch back-and-forth from the 6-dive and 11-dive formats during the season. Yorktown's Sam Mahon should point well, though.

The times come from those reported to varvee.com, as well as research of other meet results that haven't been reported by varvee.com. Keep in mind that athletes face the same limits on participation in the tournament; a competitor can only take part in a combination of one individual event and three relays, OR two of each. An athlete CANNOT compete in three individual events. That means coaches had a lot to think about before submitting their Sectional lineups last Thursday.
