The loss of this summer's Racin' by the River Classic long course meet will take a big bite out of our club's financial base. So it's critical that EVERYONE in the club, and their supporters, roll up their sleeves to help make its replacement a success.
It's Dan's Fish Fry, an All-You-Can-Eat style fish and chicken dinner fundraiser on Saturday, July 2nd. It'll be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Yorktown United Methodist Church. Tickets will be priced at $9 for adults (13 and older), and $6 for children (ages 6-12). Kids ages 5 and younger will eat FREE!
The meal will feature fish and chicken (prepared by our vendor on site), along with cole slaw, baked beans and bread. Desserts will also be available. Diners will have the options of eating at the church, or taking their carryout orders with them to stake out an early fireworks viewing spot at Morrow's Meadow.
Each of the club's current swimmers will be asked to sell tickets in advance (you'll be receiving them at an upcoming practice). We're hoping swim parents will also help in the sales effort.
What we REALLY need from parents, though, is your volunteer time and labor. I know some families are probably planning to be out of town for that holiday weekend. But this will be a labor intensive undertaking, from breading the fish in the morning and setting up tables and chairs at the church, to serving the food and cleaning up afterward. This really is an all-hands-on-deck effort. We need EVERY ONE OF YOU to make this work!
